MOT certificates now reveal car safety recalls

As of July 2023, MOT test certificates now include details of any outstanding safety recalls on your vehicle. This is a significant step forward in keeping drivers safe on UK roads.

How does it work? Major car manufacturers have joined the scheme, including Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, Honda and the VW Group providing real-time recall data to the DVSA. This information is then displayed directly on your MOT certificate in the advisory section. 

What does this mean for you?

If you have a recall - contact your local car manufacturer dealership and book it in for the recall.
